Letter From Mike Mulherin

Here is a note I got from Mike. I didn't ask his permission to share it with everyone, but it touched me, and I'm sure he won't mind
Dear Den,
I know it only seems like yesterday that Lil & I got married but has been 39 years & about a hundred lbs. ago. It all happened on March 24th 1962 at Ft Eustis Virginia when a young slim 2nd Lt.married the most wonderful girl in the world. Today it just keeps getting better every day.

Coyle Research

I got a letter this eveining from cousin? Joe in Italy. One of the many Coyles he's been working with has put up a web page to help the rest of us in our research! It's loaded with links to geneology pages where our ancestors may yet be located. To do a bit of your own research, click on Ginny Chung's Coyle research link.
As of this evening's email, Joe has indexed 7,684 Coyle individuals in his quest to find our roots.

News From Rich

February 20
Family news: Rich Jr. is heading for Kuwait with several units of the 1st Calvary in April for desert training (and to let Sudam know we're still around so he better behave). They expect temperatures to be around 130 degrees during the day. He said training won't go one between 10:00 AM and 5 PM. Can you imagine being in a metal tank in that kind of heat? He'll be getting back in August. Thanks to the Army he missed Colleen's wedding and now he'll miss Darlene's wedding too. Kim and the grandkids will be up here for Dar's wedding anyway.
Carol, Pat's wife, has gotten a new doctor involved in her case and he has ordered a more aggressive physical therapy program for her. It seems to be working for she is now getting around with a cane instead of crutches. The new doctor is a sports injury doctor and understands knee injuries. Her old doctor was the physician who removed the tumor. His specialty is tumors not knees. He did a great job with the surgery but was afraid of re-injuring her knee and was too conservative on her physical therapy. As a result her progress was quite slow over the Summer and Fall. That's the big news on the family right now. Take care.
Rich

Honey and Gloria's News

Maxwell Street Memories is now complete and found on the "Stories" page, along with one of our grandfather's poems that was written for Uncle Jim on the day of Honey's birth.

Family Tree

Recently, through a long an circuitous route, I came in contact with a fellow named Joe Coyle. Joe believes that his ancestors also came from County Cavan, IR. We are now working together to try to find out roots, and I believe he is one of us. The other day he sent me a picture of his ancestor, and he looks like my brother Phil! To see the picture, and the latest updates, go to the growing tree page

Renie

Renie's on a new adventure. She's hoping to be able to supply us all with free electricity. (I hope so too!) If you haven't heard all about it through the grapevine, give me a holler, or email Renie

Stories

We've got one from Honey and Gloria, I've posted one of my own. Come on guys, somebody must remember something! Please share what you remember with the rest of us.
Cousin Peggy told me a cute one about her parent's honeymoon, but I think that she needs to send it in to us in her own words. Everyone email her and ask her to release it

Mom's House

I've been keeping pretty busy in my spare time working on Mom's house. Hopefully I'll have it in like new condition by April so that it will be ready for sale in the spring housing market. If anyone in the Baltimore area has a friend who might be interested in the house, let me know and we'll make them a good deal.

Irish Days In Wilkes-Barre

I got a note from Renie O'Donnell. Here is an excerpt from the note:
"The first weekend after the 4th of July is Irish Days up here. Lets work on this gang for a get together."
That is the week right after Darlene's wedding, so I don't know how many of us will be up for another trip, but if you have questions, send Renie a note. Don't look for a real quick reply though, 'cause Renie only reads her mail about once a month.
